My first Christmas card this year

Well I have made my first Christmas card of the season and it is done off the cute sketch created by Jack for the weekly Whimsical Wednesday: The Diedrich Dare challenge which can be found here: http://thediedrichdare.blogspot.com/

For this card I used a brand new stamp by Harriet Hurst that I just won from the Nutcrafters challenge. I think this angel is so pretty and I really enjoyed working with it. She is colored in using Copics and Bic Mark-its. I also used diamond Stickles on her wings. The paper is from a christamas swap I recently took place in. The snowflake brads are something I had in my stash.

Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a fabulous week.

SAS Challenge

OK so this is a card I made for the challenge over at http://sasthefreshbatch.blogspot.com
I had to make a baby shower card so I thought that this sketch would go perfect with the stork stamp that I have.

I used Copics to color the image. The house is made from the new Core-dinations cardstock that I just got. I had to add a shiny brass looking brad for the doorknob.

Thanks for looking.

So here is the sketch we were to use from the SAS Fresh Batch

A fall card for this Monday

Well its Monday everyone. I hope we all had a great weekend. I know I did, there is so much to do this time of year.

Well This is my first card I will post this week. I promise I will have more later.

This card was done for multiple challenges, five of them in fact. So lets get to it, the five challenges were the following:

Pile it on challenge http://pileitonchallenge.blogspot.com/ - was to use a leaf or leaves.
Friday Sketchers http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/ - was to use the sketch provided.
The Color Throwdown http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/ - was to use the colors orange, a dark nuetral (I chose brown), red and yellow.
Cute Card Thursday http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ - was to make your card sparkle (as you can see the leaves do that but so do several parts of Miss Dahlia)
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge http://thesecretcraftersaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com/ - was to make a card for the theme of Four Seasons, you could pick a season or do all. Here I picked Fall.

So onto the card specifics. I used some patterned paper that I got in a swap and cardstock from Making Memories. The leaves I cut from some patterned paper that I had. The image is a Wild Sprout named Dahlia from The Greeting Farm. I colored her with Copics, Bic Mark-Its and some Starlight glitter pens.

Thanks for looking everyone and I hope you all have a great week.

Another Anya card

This week I made a card for my friend's birthday using two challenges. Both of which are new challenge blogs for me. I am so excited.

First I used the recipe challenge at http://anyoneforanya.blogspot.com/ . The recipe was to use 3 pieces of paper or cardstock, 2 buttons and one bow. Here I used the two different color cardstock and the patterned paper I got from a swap. I used the two teal buttons and the pale pink ribbon for the bow (although I am not to sure about the bow).

The second challenge was a sketch challenge over at http://corrosivechallengesbyjanet.blogspot.com . When I saw the sketch I knew if would work perfect with the recipe challenge.

Now as for the rest of the card, I used Flutter Anya for the image which I colored in using Bic Mark-its and Copics. I also used the Happy Birthday rub-ons from Making Memories.

2 challenges in one

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a good week so far. I wanted to share a card with you that I made for a sketch challenge over at Taylored Expressions http://tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com/. I used the Birthday Anya image from the Greeting Farm that my friend Carissa sent me. I love her. I colored her with Copics and Bic Mark-its. I also used Starlights glitter pens on the candle flame, her shoes and her bow. I used papers from a birthday pack that I found hiding amongst my things.

While I was blog hopping this week I noticed that the new blog Nutshells http://nutcrafters-nutshells.blogspot.com/ was running a new challenge where you find a currently running sketch challenge and make a card using that sketch along with any line of stamps that they sell in their store http://www.nutcrafters.co.uk/zen/. Well since I knew they carried The Greeting Farm I figured hey I could use this card for this challenge too. YAY.

ICS Challenge

Well it sure was a long weekend and not Monday is half over. Wow time flies. Ok so this weekend I got a couple cards done and one of them was for the IC Sketches Challenge #38 over at http://icsketches.blogspot.com/. for this card I used some aged handmade paper a friend gave me (that is my solid background paper). I also used some patterned paper I got in swaps. the image is Edward, who is a Wild Sprout over at the Greeting Farm. I colored him in with Copics, Bic Mark-its. I inked up some chipboard and and then used eylets to give them a little something extra. I am also using this card for the Farm Fresh Fridays challenge over at the Greeting Farm's blog http://splendidstamping.blogspot.com/.

Color Throwdown #64

Here is my entry this week for the Color Throwdown challenge found here http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2009/10/color-throwdown-64.html. The Challenge is to use the colors Black or dark brown, Baja Breeze, and Sahara Sand.

I followed a sketch that was issued in a group on Cafemom and I used Reeta, a Wild Sprout image from The Greeting Farm. I decided to go very minimal with the card. I like it but I feel like it's missing something. Oh well, I know that when I start monkeying with the cards then I wish I would have left them. So this time I decided not to second guess myself.

2 challenges in one

Well I made a halloween card for my boys using the challenge over at the Greeting Farm http://splendidstamping.blogspot.com/ . This weeks challenge was brought to us by Kadie and the challenge was to make a boy card. I used the pumpkin head, the vampire and the mummy from the Spooktacular set. I was given these images from another card making momma, Carisa. I colored them in using Bic Mark-its and Copics. The PP is by American Crafts. I topped it off with the Boo Crew sticker.
I also used the color challenge over at http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/. The challenge was to try and use the following 4 colors (at least use 3): basic grey, old olive, rich razzleberry, and really rust. Well I was able to use 3 of the four, everything but the olive. I love doing their color challenges. If you havent played along before, you should.

This card I made was for the ICSketches challenge #36 over at http://www.icsketches.blogspot.com/. I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out. The image is from My Favorite Things and it was sent to me by my friend Anna (thanks). I colored with Bic Mark-its and Copics.

Miss Anya card

Ok so I just got these awesome stamps from The Greeting Farm http://www.thegreetingfarm.com/ for my prize in their Stamp A Day Giveaway. I couldnt wait to try them. Then I saw this weeks sketch on CPS Card Sketches http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ and I knew they would go together perfectly. This is my first time entering the CPS challenge but I loved the sketch and I am very happy with the result .

To make the card I used some locally made cardstock along with PP that I received in a swap. The image is from the Miss Anya Dressy set. I stamped her up twice and tucked the first image under the PP and then I cut out the skirt and legs and on the second image and layered that on top of the PP. I finished it off with some crystal jems I got from a friend.

Thanks for looking and hope you all are having a wonderful day.

Color Throwdown #56

Hey there. Wow two posts in one day. That must be a record for me. LOL.

Well the next challenge card is for the Color Throwdown #56 challenge over at http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/ . The colors we are to use are SU colors Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, and Dusty Durango. Well since I dont have any of those so I improvised as best as I could with what I had and I think it turned out pretty good. I used some mat papers from a Making Memories pad I had and a new PP that I got recently. The image is Tender Hug by Penny Black. I colored the image with Bics and Copics. I then added the gems for a little something extra. I used a sketch from a challenge in Card Makin Mommas over on Cafemom.

I really hope that this will count since I don't have the exact colors and I just noticed that the teal blue matting barely shows up. I had fun with this challenge regardless.

Bellarific Friday Challenge

Well its another week and another Bella challenge. This time I was also doing a card kit swap on Cafemom and so I used my kit to make the challenge card since the kit included a huggabug image. I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out too. I used everything given to me in my card kit and I used my Bic mark-its and Copics to color her in. I also used Stickles for the wings.

Oh and by the way I won $10 in Bella Bucks after the last challenge. YAY for new supply $$.

Farm Fresh Friday Challenge

So I finally got up the nerve to try my hand at a challenge over at the Greeting Farm blog http://splendidstamping.blogspot.com/and I am soooo happy with the result. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a win here since I really LOVE the stamps set that is the prize.

I used a Miss Anya image that I got in a swap from a group on Cafemom. I got the papers on a recent trip to Salem where I went and checked out a couple new supply shops. I colored Anya with Bic Mark-its and Copics.

Little Paper Shop, Bellarific Friday, and The Color Throwdown

Hey everyone. I know I havent posted in a long time. I have been so busy and I had to get a new camera, but here is a new card to show off.

I am combining three challenges with this card. Who knew that once card could fit the requirements for 3 challenges. Woo Hoo.

First challenge is for Little Paper Shop: http://littlepapershop.blogspot.com/ , this is a color challenge: pink, red and blue. They have an awesome stamp prize for the winner. Check out the blog. There are lots of pretties to look at.

Second challenge is for the Bellarific Friday sketch: http://stampingbella.com/blog/ . I didnt even realize when I was making the card that I was following the sketch. I had printed it off and forgot it at work. My subconscious must have been working overtime last night.

Third challenge is for The Color Throwdown http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/ . I cant beleive that they had the same color challenge as LPS. Now I just began following this blog thanks to a friend I have to say that upon first glance it seems like a fun blog. I am looking forward to participating in more of their challenges.

Thanks for looking everyone.

An Easter Card

OK so I found this cute blog a while ago and they have free monthly printables to download. The blog is Tinker & Co. Studio http://tinkernco.blogspot.com/. They also sell some super cute collections. I WANT MILLY.

Anywho, I decided to use Warren printables for an Easter card and I LOVE it. I think he is SOOOO cute.

Chopped Week 3

OK so here is my entry for the third and final week of the Chopped challenge for Scrap Attack on Cafemom. The requirements for everyone in the 4 groups was to use packing tape, pictures, ribbon and ink for distressing.

I used a sketch from the April Pagemaps as my inspiration. When I saw that we were to use packing tape I knew that these pictures of the boys in their cardboard clubhouse would be perfect. I found a cardboard box and decided to use tha packing tape to attach a piece of the cardboard to the page. Then I cut out some of the wording that was on the box for embellishment. I used ink to lightly discolor the cardboard and to streak both the patterned paper and the cardstock. I added alphabet stickers to the ribbon. I LOVE this page. I am so happy with it. I can't wait to see what the voting will be on this, the other mom that I am going up against is really talented. The voting will take place this weekend so I'll post early next week the outcome.

Cropped Week 2

So I made it through week 1 in the Cropped challenge on CM. Now the week 2 challenge is to make a layout with the following requirements (for group 1): ribbon, naked chipboard, yellow cardstock, and round brads.

This is what I came up with

Guess what? I made it through again. I am now in the final two for group 1. YAY ME.

My final challenge this week is to create a card, LO, tag, altered item using the following items:
clear packing tape, assorted photos, ribbon, ink for distressing.

I am going up against Linda and she rocks so wish me luck. I have my LO in mind that I want to do. I think I am going to work on it tonight.

CROPPED challenge week 1

So I signed up for a challenge on CM in the group Scrap Attack and the challenge was set up like the show Chopped. There were 4 groups of 4 (I'm in group 1) and every week there is a different challenge and different element requirements. At the end of the week all the work is judged and the lowest gets voted off.

Week 1 was to do a card or tag and it had to include: 8 pieces of cardstock, black journaling pen, photo squares, and alphas.

This is what I came up with and guess what I made it on to the next round.

New Bella Card

So I made this new Bella card for a challenge to make a card for a special woman in your life. I am going to give this to my mom. I used papers from 2008 Spring DCVW stack and colored in with Bic Mark-its (Gosh I need some Copics, at least a skin one) and starlights. I used my Big Bite to set the eyelets. I love that thing. The sentiment is a rub-on.

If the Shoe Fits TGIF challenge

Ok so the TGIF challenge over on If The Shoe Fits.... Scrap It (http://iftheshoefitsscrapit.blogspot.com/) is a color challenge. We are to create something using the colors lime green and orange. Here is the first of my creations with more to come because I love this color combo. I am going to work on more cards this weekend, possibly even a LO.

2nd If the Shoe Fits Scrap It challenge

I was really inspired by the If the Shoe Fits Scrap It (http://iftheshoefitsscrapit.blogspot.com/) blog challenge proposed by Tanisha. I knew the exact picture I wanted to use in regard to scrapping a pair of shoes. On a visit to Grandma's house, my youngest son was carrying around my old clown doll and since he knew that clowns wore big shoes he went and grabbed Grandma's and started running around the house. He stopped just long enough for us to snap this picture.

If the Shoe Fits Scrap it Blog sketch challenge

OK so one of the If The Shoe Fits Scrap It blog (http://iftheshoefitsscrapit.blogspot.com/) challenges this week is a sketch challenge put up by Kristi. This one came to me pretty easily. I also combined this with the another blog challenge where we were to do a LO about an important woman in our life in honor of National Women's Month.

Well here is mine of my mom.
